Missing Children's Network
In 1996, we teamed up with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) to form the Missing Children's Network. NCMEC is a private, non-profit organization that works under a Congressional mandate in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Justice. Putting Them on DisplayThrough our Missing Children's Network, every Wal-Mart store, Neighborhood Market and Sam's Club in the United States displays a bulletin board with posters and identifying information of missing children. Those children are also featured on our Wal-Mart Television Network. Customers with leads or helpful information can call the toll-free NCMEC hotline (1-800-THE-LOST). Our Bulletin Boards and Television Network Reach Millions of People.Of the more than 8,841 children we’ve featured, more than 7,193 have been recovered. Over 170 of which were a direct result of our bulletin boards. Often, Just One Look Can Bring a Child Home. The next time you're in one of our stores, take a moment to look at the Missing Children's board, or visit the NSMEC Web site. If you recognize a child call: 1-800-THE-LOST.
