Supercenter Offers Wal-Mart Convenience to Growing Goldsboro
New west side store brings groceries, merchandise, services and jobs
WHAT: Residents in west Goldsboro, Rosewood, Pikeville, Princeton, Kenly and Fremont will soon have the convenience of a Wal-Mart Supercenter closer to their homes, with around-the-clock access to discount groceries and a wide selection of merchandise. In addition to everyday savings, the new store will provide jobs for more than 360 area residents and support local organizations with an ongoing commitment to charitable giving and community involvement.
The Supercenter, located at 2908 U.S. Hwy. 70 W., will be among the first businesses on Goldsboro’s booming west side when it opens Wednesday, Nov. 7. Shoppers will be able to take advantage of Wal-Mart’s low prices immediately following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m.
Colorful walls wrap the inside of the 184,109-square-foot Supercenter where customers will find an updated layout, wider aisles and low-profile displays. The store will offer local residents a full line of groceries, as well as a bakery, a deli, a frozen food area, meat, dairy and fresh produce sections and beer and wine. Customers will enjoy the store’s expansive selection of merchandise in all departments, including apparel and accessories, sporting goods, electronics, home décor, fine jewelry and health and beauty. Shoppers will have access to a pharmacy with two drive-through lanes and a Wal-Mart Connect Center for cellular telephones and accessories. Other convenience services include a Subway restaurant, a SmartStyle Family Hair Salon, a DaVi Nails salon and a branch of Woodforest Bank.
Many associates have chosen to transfer to the Goldsboro store from other area Wal-Mart stores, and 17 associates have worked for the retailer for more than 10 years. The store plans to fill approximately 360 positions upon opening.
