History & Awards

It started in 1994

Our Supplier Diversity program is created with 3 simple goals:

  • Strengthen and expand our business relationships with minority- and women-owned suppliers.
  • Make them a part of our day-to-day business.
  • Educated consumers and associates about our commitment to these businesses.

That same year, we joined the National Minority Supplier Development Council Inc., a widely recognized minority supplier accreditation organization.

1997

We joined the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council Inc., the most commonly used women’s business accreditation organization.

Today

Our Supplier Diversity program has gained great momentum since its inception, growing from $2 million in 1994 to more than $4.8 billion spent in 2007.

Our dedicated team is devoted to growing relationships with minority- and women-owned businesses. We identify, and help develop partnerships between diverse manufacturers and distributors to service state and regional markets. We serve a diverse mix of customers in communities across the country. Our diverse supplier partnerships help us provide the products our local customers want and need.
